Accolades

I’m a recipient of Seeds of Fortune’s 2022 Corporate Community Award for my work with and for Gen Z.

The previous year, I was named a Critical Writing Fellow for the art institution Recess. I was selected by artist Dana Davenport to submit a piece of text around beauty supply stores, racial tension/equity in beauty. The essay complimented her living instillation in New York; a miniature beauty supply store with funds received going back to Black beauty professionals.

I’ve also been highlighted by Muck Rack for their 2022 Black History Month initiative. They recognized me for my writing and editing across entertainment, beauty, fashion and politics.

Excitingly, the digital Black Joy issue that I co-ideated with the Kindred by Parents team was the 2024 Children & Young Adult Winner for Eddies (award for excellence).
